Hello Mystery Readers,
We're back in our Minnesota home for the summer and fall months. Enjoyed a very nice June, though we've had a few hot and humid 90+ days. This weekend looks beautiful.
In researching my latest Santana novel, No Way To Die, I read Clinton Romesha's book, Red Platoon, about the harrowing fourteen hour battle at Combat Outpost Keating in Afghanistan. Romesha won the Medal Of Honor for his heroic efforts during the firefight with the Taliban near the Pakistan border. Hollywood made a movie about the battle entitled The Outpost. I haven't seen
the movie but highly recommend the book for those who enjoy war stories.
Beginning Friday, July 1, and running through Sunday, July 31, all the Santana mysteries, plus my historical noir mystery, City Of Stones, will be half-price on Smashwords. Clicking on the Smashwords link will take you directly to my author Smashwords page where you can purchase the books.
Still planning to have the new Santana mystery, No Way To Die, released this fall/winter. Here's a snippet from the opening scene:
She was wearing a blood soaked green, short-sleeved shirt with a black ARMY logo across the front and blood soaked white underwear. Her forearms, hands, and legs were stained. Her body was rigid with rigor mortis. Blue and purple postmortem lividity bruised her backside. Her head rested against the back edge of the empty bathtub. Her eyes stared blindly into the eternal darkness.
Her name was Tori Easton.
The usual cast of characters will appear, Reiko Tanabe, Tony Novak, Rita Gamboni is back, Santana is the guardian for Ana Soriano, whom you first met in The Price Of Life. New characters include war vet and Santana's partner, Gabriel Cruz, plus, of course, the murder victims and
suspects.

Lots of you ask about Santana's dog, Gitana, or Gypsy in English. Thought I'd include a photo of our Gypsy below.
Hope everyone has a great weekend, and to all of you in the States, Happy Fourth Of July.
